Take a 1.5 hour a tour of demonology through the millennia with questions, answers, and lapsang souchong, hosted by The Serpent Tattoo and Occult Shop and Jacob Williamson of "The Dispatchist" podcast. Afterwards, if you choose, book a tattoo flash design based on your personal favorite demon from Nixie's designs (to be posted closer to the event)!

Course I: Imagery of the Smith-Waite Deck

In this 5 week online course, we will explore the history, imagery, and symbolism of the Smith-Waite (AKA Rider-Waite or Rider) tarot deck. Almost all modern decks are based on this pivotal deck, the first with illustrated pips (number cards). Commissioned by occultist A.E. Waite and rendered by artist Pamela Colman Smith, both of the Order of the Golden Dawn, each illustration in this deck is packed with references to Greek myth, Christian scripture, Kaballistic diagrams, and occult philosophy, and yet boils down to a succinct meaning.

Hail Satan? is essential watching for anyone who cares about the encroachment of state sponsored religion on our right to a spiritual practice- or not- guided by personal conscience. It chronicles the activities of the Satanic Temple, a religious organization that challenges the seeping of church into state by requesting, for example, that a monument to Baphomet be erected alongside one for the Ten Commandments in front of a government building, or that an after school Satanic Kids Club be established if a Christian equivalent is proposed at a public school. Their story is as hilarious and provocative as The Adversary Himself.
